Have Any Creativity? – You would be surprised what you can do to create an interesting mantel to cover the ventless gel fireplaces installed in your house. Tree branches with at least a 4” thickness can hold up a mantel in style. Level, cut, sand and finish two tree branches to the height of 3 or 4 feet. Secure the mantel top with dowels that are at least ¼”, ½” if you can. Secure the mantel to the wall and you have a nice cover for ventless gel fireplaces. It’s really not hard when you use your imagination.
Surround – Glass mosaic tiles make for great surrounds for ventless gel fireplaces. In fireplaces that have been taken out of commission, the hole left behind can be an eyesore. Ventless gel fireplaces come in handy for filling the holes, but glass mosaic tiles can bring them back to life. Match the color of the tile to the walls and you’ll have a nice design you no longer have to try to hide. For example, if your walls are tan or off-white, brown glass mosaic tiles work great. Glass mosaic tiles come in other such colors as blue, gray and green.
Do You Have Small Rooms? – Fireplaces make great additions to small rooms to make them seem more spacious. Choose a light color to paint the walls, paint the trim in an even lighter hue, and then place the fireplace in the center. When fireplaces are the focus of the room, they tend to make a room look more spacious.
Emphasize Your Fireplaces – Mirrors are also a great way to give a more spacious look to a small room, so place designer windows above your fireplaces and draw attention to them at the same time. Or, you can place large, attractive pictures above your fireplaces to draw attention to them. Why spend perfectly good money on a few fireplaces and keep them hidden?
